Things I have learned today

So, today, after deciding to start a blog, you know, to fill my vacant time, maybe have an intellectual adult "conversation" here and there, and basically escape the "No, mine" fights, here is what I have learned:

  • When posting several pictures into a post, making the size "small" works much better.
  • When sending invitations to your friends who plug your blog on theirs, make sure you haven't checked the "By email invitation only button." Sorry, guys. I hope you all have checked back by now.
  • How to make a bulleted list. (Just now, as I was typing this! LOL!)
  • How to add a picture to my profile.
  • That it is totally possible to waste an entire day playing with this, just like myspace!

The things that I still would like to know (this list could get long, so I will limit it to only things I would like to know about this using blogspot!):

  • How do I link my friends blogs to my page?
  • What is AdSense and has anyone made any money from it (remember, this is Diaries of A STAY AT HOME MOM! Which roughly translated means broke-because-I-don't-work-and-my-kids-eat-me-out-of-house-and-home-mom!)?
  • How do I put captions under my photos in a post?
  • Can I make a "Favorites" list or a "Shortcuts" list to my favorite blogs on the Dashboard?
  • What the little tools next to the "Page elements" are?
  • How in the hell do I communicate a sarcastic tone ?

To add your friends links, go to Layout, then click on page elements, then choose add a page element, then choose "links." Type in your friends, then hyperlink them. From the layout tab you can add lots of other stuff too: time keepers (html format), lists, photos, etc.
Captions for photos don't really exist; you just have to move the photos around correctly within the blog to align properly with the text.
Denoting sarcasm? Well, I think people just have to know you and your sense of humor. :)

Thanks Laura for the information. Thanks for checking out my blog too!

I think some of the things you "learned" today are funny. Sarcasm is tough to get across when you are talking let alone typing. Anyone who really knows you will know when you are sarcastic. And if they don't and think something you said was offensive or inappropriate then oh well. For anyone who read the blog and doesn't get the sarcasm, re-read it and assume that she is being sarcastic a majority of the time.

Hey, that's a nice bulleted list you have there! :)

There should be a special character to denote sarcasm. Perhaps use italics anytime you're being facetious.(Just kidding--see, we need a character!)

BTW, I hope you didn't mind me posting about your blog. I was excited. If it's just something you want family and friends to see, that's cool.

No, don't worry about. I was still trying to remain somewhat anonymous about the whole, well, you know, thing. I'm not ready to be found yet. But, it's cool. I'll get more readers this way, and possibly make more friends. Maybe Laura will put up a family of four in Oregon for a vacation! Just kidding! ;)
